Robert D. Gordon of Brunswick died after a short illness at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla. He was retired from Glynco Naval Base, formerly located in Brunswick. He was a member of The Way of The Cross Church.He is survived by his wife, Villa Mae Gordon of Brunswick; two sons and daughters in-law, William and Elaine Gordon and Russell and Cheryl Gordon, all of Brunswick; two daughters and sons in-law, Barbara and Herman Poppell of Brunswick and Alice Faye and Yoyo Arguello of Jonesboro; four granddaughters, Christy Gordon Lewis, Angie Saunders, Stephanie Moreno and Charity Poppell; three grandsons, Troy "Bubba" Smith, Paul Gordon and Christopher Purvis; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery.Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
