JWSC should not have moved forward
"More due diligence" from the Joint Water and Sewer Commission is quite the understatement. How can you buy a $700,000 property and not know what's in it?

Where have I heard this before?

Where was the contingency to opt out if the building was not sound?

Maybe those in charge knew upfront that the building was not sound and needed more work to the tune of $2 million more. Maybe they chose to buy it anyway figuring that the taxpayers would overlook it.

Has the commission come forward to explain how this happened?

I'm sure a county attorney and real estate agent representing the county would know that an engineering inspection should have been required before signing the contract.
