Man stabbed in back during quarrel

A 33-year-old Niles Avenue man told Glynn County police he was stabbed in the back with a knife in the 3500 block of Franklin Avenue during a quarrel.

The man told police he had been arguing with someone and turned to leave when he was stabbed around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The man spoke to police at the Southeast Georgia Health System hospital in Brunswick, where he had gone for treatment.

Police have a suspect.

Mans says weapon was pointed at him

A 21-year-old Cornwall Street man told police he was accosted by males with a gun near the street's intersection with Stafford Avenue.

He said several males jumped out of a car and said they were going to kill him.

One of the suspects wielded a black revolver, he told Glynn County police.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10.

Glynn commission to meet Tuesday

The Glynn County Commission will meet for a work session at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the second floor of the Harold Pate Building on Reynolds Street.

Agenda items include discussion of an ordinance on the commercial use of single-family dwellings and a presentation from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division on the former Brunswick Wood Preserving site, which is a federal Superfund site.

Commissioners also will receive an update on the Ga. Spur 25 project, discuss sidewalks near public schools and talk about the 2012 Dog Control Law requirements.
