Woman dies in car accident
A single car accident just outside Everett City in northwest Glynn County Monday left a woman dead and two other people in the vehicle in critical condition.

The injured were airlifted from the scene.

According to a preliminary report of the accident from the Georgia State Patrol, Shelley Turner, 41, was killed when the 2010 Dodge Avenger she was a passenger in ran off the north shoulder of Old Jesup Road around 11:15 p.m. Monday near the intersection with Country Road in the Everett City community.

Three juveniles were also riding in the car, which was driven by Turner's husband, Tony Franklin Turner, 45, of Brunswick, according to Trooper Kevin Zeigler, the officer who worked the accident scene.

He said no one in the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Tony Turner, as well as a teenage passenger, were both airlifted by separate medical evacuation helicopters. Turner was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah with head injuries, where he remained in critical condition Tuesday, Zeigler said.

The teenager was taken to Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville. He also remained in critical condition Tuesday, Zeigler said.

None of the juveniles in the vehicle was identified by the Georgia State Patrol.

No other cars were involved and no charges have been filed, Drury said.

Zeigler said a toxicology report on the driver of the vehicle from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab in Savannah is pending.
