Traveling food bank feeds needy
A mobile food pantry of America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia will be in Brunswick today.

The quarterly food distribution is to feed the first 500 individuals or families that meet income guidelines.

For a family of four, that is a monthly income of $2,552 or less.

People needing food will be asked to verify their income, but will not have to provide documentation, said Jamie Kendall, Second Harvest agency relations manager.

The distribution at the Brunswick Exchange Fair Grounds, 101 Emory Dawson Parkway., Brunswick, is designed for low-income, elderly, disabled and unemployed people.

This is the fourth time this year Second Harvest has rolled in its mobile pantry. Because of Thanksgiving next week, it is expected to draw the biggest crowd, Kendall said.

"We'll go through 500 families (very quickly)," she said.

Food that will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will have a Thanksgiving theme.
