Police investigate recent shooting
The investigation into the shooting death of Antwan Lawrence is ongoing as Brunswick police continue to ask the public to provide information about three possible suspects in the case.

Brunswick Police Capt. Wan Thorpe said Friday that no arrests have been made, and investigators continue to work the case. An officer will be on call Christmas Day to work the case, if necessary, he said.

Lawrence, 28, was found around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Gordon Street in Brunswick with multiple gunshot wounds, including one in the head and one in an arm. Police have not said how many times Lawrence was shot.

Emergency workers were unable to revive Lawrence at the scene, and he was taken to the Brunswick hospital of Southeast Georgia Health System, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Witnesses told police three black males in a white sedan with dark tinted windows were responsible for the shooting.

The shooting is the latest in a wave of gun violence that has kept investigators busy since November. Authorities have agreed to form a violent crimes task force to help stem the violence and solve existing cases.

Investigators declined to say whether the latest shooting death is linked to the recent gun violence in the city.
