Local library hard-pressed for new name
There will be no request for public input to name the newly created single-county library system in Glynn County. Glynn County Library Board of Trustees members who were appointed to a transition committee created to help establish the new library system briefly considered asking for public input until a state official emphasized the urgency in choosing a new name.

Julie Walker, deputy state librarian, said choosing a new name needs to be one of the highest priorities because trustees can't submit anything legal and binding to the state without a name.

Matthew Permar, chair of the library trustees, said a decision for a name will be made at the next meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Brunswick Library, 208 Gloucester St., Brunswick.
