Jan. 3 through Jan. 5
* The 37th Annual New Year's Bluegrass Festival will be at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, 75 North Beachview Drive, Jekyll Island. An adult three-day reserved ticket is $95, three-day general admission is $85, a daily reserved ticket is $40 and general admission is $35. A child three-day reserved ticket is $50, three-day general admission is $45, a daily reserved ticket is $25 and general admission is $20.

* Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association will have an opening reception from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Ritz Theatre, 1530 Newcastle St., Brunswick, for its exhibit entitled "International Vista: Left Bank at the Ritz." It will hang throughout the month of January. Details: 262-6934.
* Hattie's Books, 1531 Newcastle St., Brunswick, will have a book signing of the novel "CHOICES" by local John House during First Friday in downtown Brunswick, from 5 to 8 p.m.

* The Literary Guild of St. Simons Island's film series will present "The Way" at 7 p.m. at the St. Simons Island Casino Theater, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island. A $3 donations is requested.
Jan. 10
* Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association will show "Amarcord" in its Cinema Gourmet series at 6:30 p.m. at the Ritz Theatre, 1530 Newcastle St., Brunswick. It will include food from by Indigo Coastal Shanty, a film talk by Rob Nixon and a screening of the 1973 Fellini film. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased by 9 p.m Jan. 8. * The Literary Guild of St. Simons Island's "Coffee with the Author" series will present Michelle Gillespie, a Wake Forest University professor, at 10:30 a.m. in Room 108 of St. Simons Island Casino, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island. Gillespie will discuss the books "North Carolina Women: Their Lives and Times" and "Katharine and R.J. Reynolds: Partners of Fortune and the Making of the New South." * The Island Players will present "Play On," a comedy by about a theater group struggling to put on a play. It will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays the Casino Theater, 530 Beachview Dr., St. Simons Island. * The Brunswick Community Concert Organization will present a violin and piano concert by Ann Fontanella at 7:30 p.m. at Glynn Academy Auditorium,1000 Mansfield St., Brunswick. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students. Details: 638-4111.
Jan. 27

* CAPE Theater will present "Moonlight and Magnolias," a comedy about the making of "Gone with the Wind," at 6:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 1:30 p.m. Sundays at Old City Hall, 1229 Newcastle St., Brunswick.
